Release Date: 5/9/2005. Expired: 7/15/2005
With its expanded transportation availability, Camp Renaissance is quickly filling available slots for summer sessions as the registration deadline approaches.
Camp Renaissance is a unique daycamp experience offered in four one-week sessions by The Renaissance Center in Dickson. Entering its sixth year, the camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-14.
Sessions offered for summer 2005 are the weeks of June 13-17, June 20-24, June 27-July 1 and July 11-15. The camp fee is $145 per camper per week and registration deadline is June 3.
Since its inception, Camp Renaissance has offered daily bus transportation from The Renaissance Center in Dickson and the Bellevue area. As the camp’s popularity grows, it is now offering transportation services to other areas outside Dickson County for a minimal fee.
“Each year we get more and more requests from people in the surrounding counties for Camp Renaissance to provide transportation services to other areas so camp can be available to more children,” said Paul McCardle, camp director. “Beginning this year, we will offer morning and afternoon bus service to selected sites for specific camp sessions.”
Bus service will be offered to the Clarksville, Waverly and McEwen, East Hickman/Lyles, Kingston Springs/Pegram and Franklin/Fairview areas for specific weeks if a minimum of 20 campers register for those weeks.

A Camp Renaissance bus will serve the Clarksville/Montgomery County area for the first camp session the week of June 13-17 if there are at least 20 campers registered for the service. There will be a transportation fee of $25 per camper. The bus stop will be Montgomery Central High School.

A Camp Renaissance bus will serve the Waverly and McEwen area for the second camp session the week of June 20-24 if there are at least 20 campers registered for the service. There will be a transportation fee of $25 from the Waverly Elementary School stop and $20 from the McEwen High School stop.

Bus transportation is available at no charge from The Renaissance Center.
The Camp Renaissance buses will pick up campers at the designated stops each day of the camp session and drop them off in the afternoons Monday through Thursday. Bus service is not offered on Friday afternoons as campers’ families are invited to Camp Renaissance to visit the facilities and enjoy a cookout.
Recognized by readers of Nashville Parent magazine as one of the most popular daycamps in Middle Tennessee, Camp Renaissance is a unique experience that combines traditional outdoor camp activities with the one-of-a-kind educational and entertainment opportunities of The Renaissance Center.
At the Adventure Camp site, campers get to experience rappelling, climbing, zip lining, swimming, caving, riflery, archery, skeet, fishing and much more. At The Renaissance Center, campers will enjoy a live theatre production of Schoolhouse Rock Live! Junior, a Faraday Science Theatre show and a show in the CyberSphere Digital Theater.
