Don Kyle to sign books at Virtually Unlimited Bookstore Aug. 11

Don Kyle will sign copies of his book, Horse Sense, No Cents, Nonsense, and Wild Onions, at the Virtually Unlimited Bookstore inside The Renaissance Center 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11.
A Cumberland Furnace resident, Kyle’s book is a collection of memories and recollections about his childhood, the people and his experiences in Kansas and other parts of the Midwest.
Kyle was born and raised on a farm in southeast Kansas. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, graduated from the University of Nebraska and worked as an engineer for a large conglomerate in the livestock feed manufacturing industry.
He went on to complete Harvard University’s Advanced Management Seminar program and worked in personnel and general management.
Kyle moved with his family to a ranch in Missouri in the 1960s where he developed a registered cattle operation and later traveled as a cattle consultant promoting and marketing cattle over much of the United States, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.
In 2003, Kyle was inducted into the Heart of America Brangus Cattle Breeders Hall of Fame.
An avid sportsman and hunter, since retiring Kyle has enjoyed making custom spurs and horseshoe art.
Kyle’s book is packed full of lively characters and colorful stories of a bygone era, from the wisdom imparted by his grandfather and parents to the lifestyle of independent ranching and farming quickly fading into the sunset.
Copies of Horse Sense, No Cents, Nonsense, and Wild Onions are available at the Virtually Unlimited Bookstore for $12.95 plus tax.
The Virtually Unlimited Bookstore is located inside The Renaissance Center at 855 Highway 46 South in Dickson, just 35 miles west of Nashville on Interstate 40 at exit 172.
