It’s not too late

Release Date: 1/17/2006. Expired: 1/20/2006

It’s not too late to sign up for an art, music, dance or theatre class at The Renaissance Center. While classes begin this week and many classes are already full, there are still plenty of opportunities to sign up for a unique and exciting class by Friday.

Looking for a fun art experience? Try your hand at pottery. The Renaissance Center offers a variety of pottery classes for children, teens and adults, incorporating hand-building techniques and throwing techniques with a potter’s wheel.

If you’d like to enjoy some bonding time with your child, The Renaissance Center offers unique opportunities in both art and music.

Just the Two of Us is a popular art class experience for the parent and child to enjoy together. Many different art mediums are introduced as the parent and child work side by side in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

For parents and children who have already enjoyed the Just the Two of Us experience, the spring semester offers a new Just the Two of Us Again class that offers more accelerated mediums and techniques to continue to fun.

The Renaissance Center’s Music Department offers unique parent and child experiences through the Kindermusik curriculum. The Kindermusik curriculum is a nationally known and unique program of music learning and enjoyment for children from birth to seven years of age. Research indicates that this is a critical time for the development of the child’s innate musical capacity. Providing a nurturing musical environment is one of the greatest gifts parents can give to their children. Emphasizing process rather than performance, Kindermusik instruction creates an environment that nurtures the total development of the child while laying the foundation for formal instruction.

Kindermusik instruction is offered in several age ranges from infants through six years old. New this spring is the Kindermusik Family Time class for families with children newborn and up. This new curriculum is designed to apply musical and developmental learning in a multi-age, multi-child family environment.

Also new this spring are Saturday Kindermusik classes!

The Renaissance Center’s Dance Department has a variety of new classes this spring, from ballet to jazz, from tap to lyrical, from ballroom to swing. Special classes are offered for children, teens and adults featuring professional instructors.
