Release Date: 6/23/2003. Expired: 6/28/2003
Author-publisher M. Sue Alexander has been involved in writing most of her life, whether in penning an article, a children’s story or a gospel song. Now she has published her first crime novel, Resurrection Dawn 2014, which is set in pre-Rapture Biblical end times.
Alexander will sign copies of Resurrection Dawn 2014 at the Virtually Unlimited Bookstore inside The Renaissance Center 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, June 28.
Raised on the grounds of Western State Hospital for the mentally ill, where her father was the resident dentist for 30 years, Alexander has a vivacious imagination that threads through her unusual stories. A 1958 graduate of Central High School of Bolivar, Tenn., she earned higher educational degrees from Union University and the University of Memphis.
During the 1990s, Alexander recorded and released four gospel albums. As a BMI-affiliated writer-publisher, she has single releases on the Circuit Rider label and a compilation CD that features gospel writer-artists.
Alexander said the idea for Resurrection Dawn 2014 came to her in a “vivid dream” in 1997. She began writing the book two years later. When the end of the first book did not complete the story, she continued with the saga until she now has seven books planned to tell the ongoing story of a woman who recovers from amnesia and seeks to solve her husband’s murder, a 25-year-old unsolved crime.
Alexander describes the story as “family oriented, futuristic, involving Biblical prophecy, romantic and suspenseful.”
“Resurrection Dawn 2014 is a futuristic crime novel set into pre-Rapture Biblical end times,” says the book’s cover. “When Victoria Martin Tempest suddenly awakens from 25 years of amnesia and learns that her attorney-husband was murdered seconds before her near-fatal automobile accident, she launches an investigation that sparks alarm among the townspeople and strikes terror in her closest enemy. Confused over a gap in her memory, Victoria faces opposition with great faith, courage and determination to bring Jeffrey’s killers to justice.”
“M. Sue Alexander is one of the most creative, gifted authors I have ever encountered,” said Joe S. Johnson Jr., an author and editor. “Her novels, with a special appeal to women, grab the reader from the first word and carry her unabated through intrigue, wonderment and mystery... (A)s I read Alexander’s writing, I am swept up into understanding the feelings of women, if that is believable.”
Alexander and her husband reside on a farm in Vanleer, Tenn., and keep close contact with their three grown children and six grandchildren. Trusting in Jesus Christ, Alexander said she believes that God often gives ordinary people extraordinary assignments and has accepted the challenge to create this heart-warming, spine-tingling novel depicting hardships as the Antichrist rises to rule.
“I write for my readers, not myself,” Alexander said. “I get a big charge out of people enjoying what I write, whether it’s a song or a book.”
Over the years, Alexander has been actively involved in Baptist churches wherever her family has lived. She said she is committed to promoting the gospel through her writing and her heart’s desire has been to enlighten the mind of the lost, brighten the vision of Christ Jesus and strengthen the will of faltering Christians, always including herself among the most needy.
