Instructor Phillip Dorroll from Dance Connection in Nashville has a passion for the dance and says he wants to share it with everyone. He and his wife, Louise, will teach the classes.

“I can’t express how sincere my passion is with regard to dancing,” Dorroll said. “I love my sport and wish to bring it to as many people as possible. It is fun, socially interactive, healthy, mentally relaxing and it puts a smile on your face.”

The Adult Social Ballroom Dance Class is 7-8 p.m. Mondays. The class is for couples and singles and features beginning Salsa, Swing and Waltz. Students will learn the basics of the three dances over six weeks. The cost is $60 per person or $100 per couple. It runs Mondays June 10-July 22 (no class July 1).

“The class is designed to help you feel socially comfortable on the dance floor,” Dorroll said. “You will make new friends and renew old acquaintances and enjoy the extra benefits of dancing, good healthy exercise, social interaction, higher self-confidence and self-esteem.”

From 8-9 p.m. on Mondays the Social Ballroom Dance Class focuses on East Coast Swing, Foxtrot and Cha Cha. The class is six weeks and students will learn the basics of the three dances. The cost is $60 per person or $100 per couple.
