The Renaissance Center Community Orchestra and Wind Ensemble to Hold Auditions

Release Date: 8/1/2000. Expired: 8/31/2000

Auditions for The Renaissance Center Community Chamber Orchestra and Wind Ensemble will be held on August 24th and August 31st, 2000 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Renaissance Center.

The Renaissance Center Community Chamber Orchestra is an opportunity for individuals in Dickson and surrounding communities to play in an ensemble devoted to the quality presentation of music on a community level. The Renaissance Center Community Wind Ensemble enjoyed such a successful season that the formation of a second ensemble is taking place.

Both ensembles work under the direction of Michael Meise, a well-known and greatly respected musician from Dickson.

“Individuals participating in an ensemble are asked to audition annually to ensure the highest standards possible,” said Meise. “We had a wonderful season last year and I am looking so forward to this new season. The level of response from the community has been great and I am getting new members every week.”

Auditions are open to any person of any age who is interested. Rehearsals will start September 7th and continue every Thursday evening. The orchestra will rehearse from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and the wind ensemble will rehearse from 8:00-9:00 p.m.

A total of three performances, which will take place in the Performance Hall of The Renaissance Center, are being planned for January, April and June of 2001. Every effort will be made to ensure that all interested individuals receive the necessary training in order to participate in the public performances. In addition, all performances will be recorded for broadcast on local cable access television.
