Student recitals, community ensemble concerts fill Renaissance Center with music in December

The Renaissance Center in Dickson presents a series of musical performances in December that will feature its community ensembles, students and faculty.

The center’s Music Department students will present their semester-ending recitals while the Children’s and Training Choirs, Community and Chamber Choirs, Community and Jazz Bands will perform their annual holiday concerts.

In addition, members of the center’s music faculty will present a special holiday sing-along for seniors.

TRC Music Department Student Recitals

1 pm, 2:30 pm & 4 pm Sat Dec 8 in the Performance Hall and Visual Arts Gallery

The Renaissance Center’s music students present their semester-ending recitals in the Performance Hall and Visual Arts Gallery. Performances will include students of voice, piano, guitar, violin, harmonica and woodwinds.

TRC Training Choir and Children’s Choir

7 pm Tue Dec 11 in the Performance Hall

Tickets: $5

Jenny Nolan Diamond presents The Renaissance Center’s Training Choir (grades 1-2) and Children’s Choir (grades 3-6) in their annual holiday concert in the Performance Hall. This year’s program is entitled A Christmas Portrait.

Christmas in the Gallery

10:30 am Thu Dec 13 in the Visual Arts Gallery

Tickets: $5 (limited to 70 participants)

Put on your favorite red and green and join us in the Visual Arts Gallery for Christmas musical numbers performed by Marilyn Fair, Jeff Martin and Kelli Workman of The Renaissance Center's music faculty. The Senior Days program will include a sing-along of some of your favorite Christmas songs.

TRC Community Choir and Chamber Choir

7 pm Thu Dec 13 in the Performance Hall

Tickets: $5

The Renaissance Center’s Community Choir and Chamber Choir, directed by Jenny Nolan Diamond, present their annual holiday concert in the Performance Hall. The 49-member Community Choir and 20-member Chamber Choir will present an evening of traditional favorites such as Silent Night, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing to gospel-flavored classics such as Go Tell It On The Mountain and What Child Is This?

TRC Community Concert and Jazz Band

7 pm Tue Dec 18 in the Performance Hall

Tickets: $5

The Renaissance Center’s Community Concert and Jazz Bands, directed by Jeff Martin, present their annual holiday concert in the Performance Hall.
