Theres no place like home for the holidays and “A Dickson, Tennessee Christmas” will be sure to take you there. “The show will feature a live band, skits and the singing of Christmas favorites such as ‘Jingle-Bell Rock,’ ‘Joy to the World,’ ‘Walk Thru Bethlehem’ and ‘Ill Be Home for Christmas,’” said Sherrill. “The audience will be delighted by performances featuring local entertainers as well as seasoned veterans from The Renaissance Centers Repertory Theatre Company. Our Christmas variety show will truly provide for an hour of great entertainment.”
As director of music education at The Renaissance Center, Sherrill herself is an accomplished performer. Her performance experience includes singing backup and playing keyboard for country music artist Faith Hill and appearing as a regular performer on the famed General Jackson Showboat in Nashville.
“The idea for doing this show is to air it on Dickson's local cable access Channel 19. We are offering free admission to the public on a reservation or first-come-first-served basis until the Performance Hall is full,” stated Sherrill. “For local cable access programming, this is a wonderful opportunity to provide a quality, entertaining holiday variety program showcasing the talents of local residents and employees here at the center.
“We have scheduled the taping on Dec. 11 which is the same day as our Senior Day activity, the CyberSphere show ‘Season of Light,’ so these participants can enjoy two shows on the same day. We invite the community to come and be a part of the show.”
