Nashville Pipes and Drums return to Renaissance Center Nov. 13

The distinctive sound of bagpipes will fill the Performance Hall again when the Nashville Pipes and Drums return to The Renaissance Center in Dickson for a Sunday, Nov. 13 concert.

Tickets for the 3 p.m. concert are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $6 for children under 13.

Founded in 1984, the Nashville Pipes and Drums performs frequently in parades and at other events throughout Middle Tennessee as well as various Scottish games and festivals across the southeast. The band won its division in the U.S. Open Pipe Band Championships in 2000 and 2001.

Nashville Pipes and Drums also has made appearances on a Rod Stewart concert tour, three of Amy Grant’s Tennessee Christmas specials, in Nashville Symphony concerts in 1998 and ’99, and in a concert at The Renaissance Center in February 2003. The band was part of the closing ceremonies for three years at the former Sara Lee LPGA Golf Tournament.

The band had its own track on the Amy Grant CD A Christmas To Remember, released in fall 1999. Members of the band are also heard on This Is Your Time, Michael W. Smith’s Dove-award-winning Song of the Year 2000. In addition to playing on the Dove awards show itself, the band appeared with Smith at two Billy Graham Crusades in 2000.

Nashville Pipes and Drums wears the Ancient Hunting Robertson tartan, in honor of James Robertson, founder of Nashville.
