Tony Gore and Majesty Perform August 1

Release Date: 7/11/2002. Expired: 8/1/2002

Tony Gore and Majesty returns to The Renaissance Center for another southern gospel concert as part of the popular Solid Gospel 105-FM series.

The concert will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 in the Performance Hall. Tickets are $12 each.

Originally from Birmingham, Ala., Gore started singing at the age of 14 and made a name for himself while performing with the Wilburns. He formed Tony Gore and Majesty in November 1993 and began touring in spring 1994. The group broadened its horizons by appearing on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Compiling hits like, “Meanwhile In The Garden,” “Outside The Gate,” “I'll Put On A Crown,” plus many more, Tony Gore and Majesty continue to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their unique style of southern gospel music.

Reaching the top 5 on the charts with “Thank God” and “Watch and See,” Tony Gore and Majesty have been the most requested artists on Gospel Music Television and in major radio markets across the U.S., South Africa and Ireland.

Band member Jason Runnels joined in January 1998. Runnels has shown to be one of the premier tenors in Southern Gospel Music. In 2000, he was nominated by the fans of the Singing News as Favorite Horizon Individual Artist.

Byron Steward joined in the summer of 2000 as keyboard player. He played locally with a few groups and even had a short tenure with Gold City.

Being a “hometown boy,” Lance Driskell has known Tony most of his life and was the obvious choice for baritone when a position came open. He says he feels he is where God wants him.

Tony Gore and Majesty has become one of Southern Gospel music’s most dynamic groups and now travels full-time across the United States and overseas to perform.

The Solid Gospel 105-FM concert series will continue Nov. 7 when Gold City comes to The Renaissance Center.
