Keys to a Winning Performance

Dr. Vicki King, pianist, will perform in the rotunda of The Renaissance Center on Mon., Nov. 20, 2000 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
King has degrees in piano performance from Mississippi University for Women and Indiana University and a Doctor of Arts in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Mississippi.
In addition, she has a performance certificate from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. She teaches privately in Clarksville and spends each summer teaching in Graz, Austria, at the American Institute of Musical Studies.
She is an active Guild judge and writes for the Piano Guild Notes magazine. She is the author of the book, Playing the Piano Naturally, and gives workshops for piano teachers on cultivating a natural technique.
“It is an honor to have Dr. King performing here for a second time in the Recitals in the Rotunda Series,” stated Damon Stevens, director of piano. “She has entitled her recital Music...the International Language and has included popular works by Frederic Chopin, George Gershwin, Scott Jopkin, Aaron Copland, Franz Liszt, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Claude Debussy.”
