Williamson County Band to perform at TRC Monday

Release Date: 4/23/2002. Expired: 4/29/2002

Marches, polkas, the music of Billy Joel and Chicago are just some of the music featured Monday evening, April 29, at The Renaissance Center as the Williamson County Community Band performs in the continuing Recitals in the Rotunda series.

Sponsored by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department, the band is an all-volunteer organization with open enrollment for anyone age 16 and over who wishes to play.

The band is under the direction of Ken Krause, who also teaches music at Columbia State Community College and teaches piano to adults at the Recreation Complex in Franklin.

The band currently boasts a membership of about 40 musicians, most of whom are adults from the community who wish to dust off old instruments and begin to play again with new friends.

Besides their performance at 7 p.m. Monday in The Renaissance Center Rotunda, the band will also be featured at Cool Springs Galleria next month.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. Monday. Admission is free.

For more information call The Renaissance Center at (615)740-5600.

The Renaissance Center is located at 855 Highway 46 South in Dickson, just 35 minutes west of Nashville on Interstate 40 at exit 172.
