With more than 20 million Christmas albums sold, Mannheim Steamroller has become a holiday favorite for many people. The group, which released its first Christmas album in 1984, is featured in a brand new laser show in the CyberSphere Digital Theatre at The Renaissance Center in Dickson.

For two weekends only, the CyberSphere will be featuring holiday shows including the new Christmas Laser Fantasy, featuring Mannheim Steamroller.

Also showing are traditional holiday favorites Season of Light and Laser Holidays. The Christmas shows are featured Dec. 13-14 and 20-21.

Christmas Laser Fantasy features Mannheim Steamroller classics such as Hark! The Herald Trumpets Sing, Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella and popular holiday standards such as O Come All Ye Faithful, Carol of the Bells, Joy to the World, Silent Night and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

The holiday music is accompanied by spectacular laser, 3D graphics and video effects along with 14,000 watts of digital surround sound.

“The techno-pop sound originated by Mannheim Steamroller is a perfect match for the CyberSphere,” said Director Ron Stinson. “The sound is phenomenal and the additions to the show made by Joe Wyatt really help make it an enjoyable experience.”

Laser Holidays has become a Christmas standard at the CyberSphere. Its collection of holiday favorites covers the range from Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree to the extremely popular version of The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole.

“Where else could you find one show that combines music from Tchaikovsky, Burl Ives, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole with the Eurythmics, Randy Travis, Smashing Pumpkins, Enya, Mariah Carey and more?” said Wyatt. “On top of all that great holiday music, we have some wonderful laser and special effects.”

Laser Holidays shows at 3 p.m. Saturdays over the two weekends. Admission is $6.

Season of Light is a planetarium show that investigates and origins of many of our modern holiday traditions, tracing some back to the winter festivals of ancient civilizations.
