CyberSphere offers treats with new Halloween shows

The CyberSphere Digital Theater offers a selection of visual tricks and musical treats with two special new Halloween laser shows in October.
Fright Light II and Hallows Eve 2003 will be presented Saturdays, Oct. 18 and 25, along with special weeknight shows Oct. 30 and 31.
“It has become a CyberSphere tradition to bring in special shows for Halloween,” said Ron Stinson, director of the CyberSphere. “We have one show for the family and one show that is a little more intense and scary with more heavy metal music.”
Fright Light II is a family Halloween show featuring popular seasonal songs along with laser effects.
Songs include Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Godzilla by Blue Oyster Cult, People Are Strange by The Doors. Edgar Winters’ Frankenstein and a medley of monster songs that includes Monster Mash, Purple People Eater, Boris the Spider and more. Fright Light II is rated PG.
Purple People Eater, a chart-topper for six weeks in 1958, was written and performed by Sheb Wooley who passed away Sept. 15 in Hendersonville.
The 14,000-watt digital Surround Sound is enhanced with laser effects from the Omniscan 360-degree laser projectors as well as special effects from the Digistar II projector and several slide and video projectors inside the four-story dome.
Hallows Eve 2003 is rated PG-13 and includes several songs by Metallica as well as video clips from South Park, the popular animated series.
Fright Light II shows at 8 p.m. Oct. 18, 3 p.m., 4 p.m. 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 25 during the 4th annual Halloween Festival at The Renaissance Center and 7 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31.
Hallows Eve 2003 shows at 9 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25 and 8 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31.
Tickets are $6 for each show or $11 for both shows in the same night.
