Special Cybersphere Program: The Mars Show

The planet Mars has intrigued and inspired us for centuries. Its reddish appearance in the night sky led the ancient Romans to name it after their god of war. Mars has played a colorful role in modern culture for the past 100 years, both in science fiction and in science fact. Narrated by Patrick Stewart.

A Telescopic Tour of Mars and the Night Sky*

Weather permitting, we’ll head outside where local amateur astronomers will be on hand with their telescopes to show you the night sky. While we wait for Mars to rise in the eastern sky, we’ll look for double stars, star clusters, and other planets (Neptune and Uranus).
*Rain date: Saturday, November 12.

This will be your best opportunity to see the Red Planet until 2018!!

We don’t expect any invasions by little green men, so come and join us!
