Renaissance Center presents first dance recital, Spring Social on May 13
Release Date: 4/26/2006. Expired: 5/13/2006
Students in The Renaissance Center’s brand new dance program will get the chance to show off their moves in the center’s first dance recital and Spring Social, both on Saturday, May 13.
The center launched a new dance program last fall that included classes in ballet, creative, tap, jazz and ballroom dance classes taught by professional instructors and performers. The program expanded this spring to incorporate beginning ballet for children, teens and adults, intermediate and advanced ballet, tap and jazz classes, creative movement, modern and lyrical dance, swing classes for teens and adults and beginning cha-cha, salsa and swing classes.
The program’s first recital, featuring students from all dance styles, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in the center’s Performance Hall.
That same evening, the center’s Jazz Band and Jazz Combo will play for the first Spring Social at 7 p.m. in the rotunda. Tickets are $5 per person or $8 per couple and refreshments will be included.
The Spring Social is not just a chance for dance students to showcase their new steps, but is open to the general public as well.
The Jazz Band and Jazz Combo will provide an evening of classic jazz and big band music to dance the night away.
