The Renaissance Center and the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the second annual Dickson County Job Fair 12-4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the center at 855 Highway 46 South in Dickson.

At least 20 different businesses and organizations will be participating with information booths looking for qualified applicants, including the Applebee’s restaurant currently under construction and the new Bridgestone APM plant that recently announced its decision to locate a plant in Dickson.

The inaugural job fair last year drew more than 20 participating businesses and industries and more than 600 attendees. The 2003 Job Fair will feature more participants representing even more vocational opportunities.

“The Dickson County Job Fair is free to attend and is a great chance to gain valuable information about job and career opportunities in the area,” said Brad Diamond, coordinator for The Renaissance Center. “The goal of the fair is to help area businesses and industries locate qualified employees and to help area residents connect with employers about potential opportunities.”

Participating businesses will be accepting resumes and applications as well as providing information on jobs available in the area. No registration is necessary and admission is free.

Each attendee will receive a printed booklet containing contact information and available job listings for all the companies represented at the fair. Some participating businesses also might be conducting on-site interviews.

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar is currently constructing a new restaurant on Highway 46 and is expected to open this summer. Bridgestone APM recently announced plans to construct a manufacturing facility in the Dickson County Industrial Park that is expected to open next spring and initially employ at least 70 people.

In addition to the two new businesses, other confirmed participants in the 2nd annual Dickson County Job Fair include Tennsco, Dickson County Nursing Home, Cracker Barrel, American General Insurance Co., Horizon Medical Center, Developmental Services of Dickson County, Manpower, Primerica, Dickson County Sheriff’s Office, Personnel Management, Tupperware, Holland Employment, Home Interior and Gifts, Renaissance Technology Solutions and others.
