Center hosts children’s activity tent at TACA

Release Date: 4/29/2002. Expired: 5/5/2002

For the second year The Renaissance Center is sponsoring the children’s activity tent at the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists fair at Centennial Park in Nashville May 4 and 5.

Thirty staffers from TRC are volunteering their time, and the TRC Repertory Company will present Mother Goose Mayhem. A science theatre presentation will be given, and art easels will be available for painting throughout the two-day fair.

There will be printmaking and mask-making workshops, puppet construction workshops, kite making workshops and a group project that will be continuous throughout the weekend for youngsters.

Bob Kucher, director of Visual Arts for the center, said the fair is sure to be as successful as last year’s, perhaps even better.

“It’s a great way for us to get some exposure in the arts community,” Kucher said. “Being a nonprofit arts facility, and TACA being non-profit, it’s a great way to work together to accomplish a goal.”

The tent will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., May 4 and 5. For more information call Kucher at (615)740-5565.
