Renaissance Technology Solutions registering for fall IT classes and workshops

Release Date: 8/12/2004. Expired: 9/12/2004

Whether you are looking to enter the challenging world of information technology as a new career or just wanting to improve your computer skills, The Renaissance Center in Dickson offers more than 30 different professional-level training classes and workshops this fall.

Registration is now under way for a variety of classes and workshops scheduled this fall from Renaissance Technology Solutions (RTS), the computer training division of the center.

From the very basics to the top certifications offered through Microsoft and recognized around the world, RTS has affordable training with many programs offered in both a series of evening classes or one-day workshops.

“The CompTIA series is an excellent starting point for anyone considering a career in the field of information technology,” said Brad Beaubien, senior director of Information Technology at The Renaissance Center. “It’s a three-part series that covers hardware, operating systems and networks. It’s also beneficial for anyone who wants to pursue one of the more advanced certifications offered through Microsoft.”

The CompTIA series is offered in three segments, with tuition for each individual segment at $1,100 or tuition for the entire series is $2,799.

“The Web Design classes are changing this semester,” said Clay McKinney, class instructor and designer of www.rcenter.org. “The Basic Web Design class is similar to the old one, but the courseware is now up to the current XHTML standard. But the intermediate class, Intermediate Web Design with CSS, is completely new. The old intermediate class focused on table-based web design, which was great at the time but is now obsolete. CSS web design is easier to create, easier to update, and faster to download than old table-based web pages. CSS really kicks, and this is the first time we’ve offered a course with this depth of CSS information. If you want to design web pages, don’t miss this.”

Registration is being conducted now at the center, 855 Highway 46 South in Dickson, or by calling (615)740-5533. Registration continues until one week prior to the beginning of each class or workshop.

The range of classes offered by RTS includes:
