Come join us for World’s AIDS Day Observance

The Renaissance Center presents three sections of the AIDS Memorial Quilt on December 1st, 2009 from 9am-9pm in the Rotunda. This one day exhibition will feature a powerful visual reminder of the AIDS pandemic. Each of the three panels was sewn together by friends, lovers and family members to commemorate the life of someone who has died of AIDS. The free reception is from 6-8pm.
The Renaissance Center is excited to partner with Nashville Cares to sponsor free HIV Testing using Orasure, a needle-less and blood-less test. These tests will be confidential and completely free. Testing will take place from 4-6pm. Nashville Cares will also provide free educational literature about the virus and ways to protect yourself and your loved ones. Finally at 6pm, join us for a food and drinks prior to an performance by Nashville in Harmony. Nashville Cares’ Prevention Coordinator, Vic Sorrell, will give an introduction to Nashville in Harmony, Nashville’s chorus for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people and friends. This performance will feature a special song focusing on the AIDS quilt called "Remember My Song." The performance is will begin at 6:30pm and is free to the public.
