Renaissance Players to hold auditions for Oliver! Oct. 6-7

The Renaissance Players will hold open auditions for a community production of Oliver! Oct. 6-7 at The Renaissance Center in Dickson.

Roles are available for males and females ages 5 to adult.

Auditions for actors ages 5-14 will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6. Auditions for actors ages 15-adult will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Those auditioning should have prepared 16 measures from any song with the sheet music in the correct key. There also will be available a tape/CD player for those wishing to sing with other accompaniment. Come in comfortable clothing as you may be asked to dance.

For anyone interested in auditioning for Oliver! but not sure what to expect, the Renaissance Players will conduct a Mock Audition Workshop for children and adults 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4. Nathan W. Brown, musical director, will help workshop participants prepare a song for the auditions while Bryan J. Wlas, choreographer, will assist in learning a dance combination that will be part of the auditions. The workshop is limited to 100 participants and the tuition is $15. The Renaissance Players will present Oliver!, the popular musical based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, Dec. 12-21 at The Renaissance Center.
