Auditions to be held for The Renaissance Player’s production of Willy Wonka

The Renaissance Center’s community theatre troupe, the prestigious Renaissance Players, is excited to announce auditions for Willy Wonka being held April 20th and 21st at 7pm in the Performance Hall. Willy Wonka is based on Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It comes to life in this stage adaptation featuring songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Performances will take place June 19th-28th, 2009.
Children 5-10 years old will audition Monday, April 20th,while those ages 11 years old and up will audition on Tuesday, April 21st. No appointment is necessary.
Children wishing to audition should prepare 16 measures of any song (approximately one minute), with the sheet music in the correct key or an accompaniment CD. A CD Player will be provided. Also, auditionees should be prepared to move, as there will be a short dance audition.
The Renaissance Players shows are cast through open auditions and presented in the Performance Hall. This troupe provides Middle Tennesseans with an opportunity to work with professional directors, actors, technicians and craftsmen to present high quality productions.
