Ginger Sands, The Gift of Make Believe

Release Date: 4/20/2000. Expired: 5/13/2000

Nashville children’s artist Ginger Sands has had a busy year. In October, one week before her second daughter was born, she released “The Gift of Make Believe” an audio/book package which has achieved an enthusiastic reception in the family and children’s market. Originally aimed at children two through ten, Sands has found that adults are also responding to the material which includes beloved standards such as “Over the Rainbow” and Shel Silverstein’s “The Unicorn.” Produced by her husband Luke Sands, this audio/book package combines classic lyrical poetry with new melodies, underscored by richly produced musical tracks. Illustrations gleaned from time-tested children’s literature complement the “Read and Sing-Along Lyric Book.” It has been touted by educators and parents as a wonderful way to introduce children to traditional poetry, while providing an easy listen for adults.

In response to overwhelming enthusiasm for her live show which she created in support of “The Gift of Make Believe” Ginger and Luke Sands are producing a video in partnership with The Renaissance Center, a state of the art multimedia production facility. The public is invited to attend the performance which will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 2:30 P.M. in the Performing Arts Theater.

“The Gift of Make Believe” is distributed by Rounder Kids, and is selling regionally at the Davis-Kidd/Joseph Beth Bookseller chain, the Parent Teacher Stores in Nashville and Antioch, Wild Oats Market, Teddy Bear Picnic in Bellevue Mall, Nooks & Crannies in the Cool Springs Mall, Tower Records and The Games Store. It is also available over the internet, through Gaylord Entertainment’s songs.com. The Gift of Make Believe web site is at www.songs.com/make-believe.
